The winner will be a representative for #Education, #Advocacy, #Activism, #Empowerment, and #BodyPositivity. The top 3 will receive prize packages from all of our various sponsors and the option to be a cosplay ambassador for LGBT HQ at comic book conventions.

THE CONTEST PARAMETERS:

 

Participants will be judged in the following 3 Categories, provide an outfit of their own that fits the category/theme, as well as answer a question. The final “crowning” round, the participant will wear the outfit of their choice. 

** Note ** Cosplay/costumes DO NOT have to be green the Green Lantern DC comics mythos, except where specifically stated in the task.

 

  •  Convention Wear:

    • The contestant must wear a Superhero Cosplay outfit that would be acceptable at any comic book and/or cosplay convention. The question will revolve around their presentation and portrayal of the bar at Convention and Philanthropic LGBTQ Events. 

(All recognizable superhero/villain/video game characters are acceptable, as well as personally created characters)

 

  • Nightlife/club life (outerwear):

    • Anything from Fetish to Nightclub to Drag, Etc. Must fit the LGBT nightlife and be Green Lantern inspired. The question will revolve around gay nightlife and events.   • ​​​ Underwear/Sexy Super Gear . . . Nuff’ Said.

    • Inspired by but not limited to Cotton, Spandex, Bodypaint, etc. Stipulation to be determined.

Note: LGBT HQ, Skin Tight USA & The Green Lantern do not provide contestants with their costumes for the competition.

Responsibilities of

Captain Green Lantern 

 The winner of the Green Lantern Competition will be crowned "Captain Green Lantern" for a full calendar year. Responsibilities and obligations attached to the title are as follows:

 

  • Attend all conventions listed for at least 1 full day in full "Captain Green Lantern" cosplay.

    • The winner is responsible for maintaining said costume and props for convention use. 

 

  • Make yourself available during said day or duration of the convention for photo opportunities and panel participation, should the convention or LGBT HQ have need of your representation.

 

  • When attending conventions, note that you are representing the LGBT and diversity community, and considered a role model promoting the ideals of education, advocacy, activism, empowerment and body positivity, and your behavior should reflect such ideals.
